A low impact cycle ride designed by experienced ride leaders for all abibilities to encourage anyone living with or effected by cancer get on their bike, get active with other people with shared experience.
The idea behind these sessions is to support people living with or recovering from cancer through cycling. The group offers a low impact cycle ride to begin to build up your fitness with an opportunity to meet & cycle alongside other people with shared experiences.
These will be short rides of around 7 miles on easy terrain. A coffee stop is always factored into the planning of the route which provides time to have a much-needed rest, be social and enjoy the surroundings.
This group will help support you if maybe you enjoyed cycling pre a cancer diagnosis and want to ease yourself back in, build up strength and confidence or if you want to try cycling for the first time. If you’ve never cycled before there is not much equipment needed just a bike, helmet and a water bottle.
The health benefits from cycling are well researched, it can improve overall physical strength and mental well-being. If you’re unsure about starting any exercise post treatment, please talk to your doctor or specialist. This is a closed group guided cycle by 2 highly experienced and friendly guides who will support and encourage you through the 7 miles.
